Dr. Mukul Sarkar’s academic journey has been marked by unwavering dedication and
remarkable achievements. He earned his M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the University
of Technology in Aachen, Germany, in 2006, and later pursued a Ph.D. in Electronic
Instrumentation Engineering at the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands, completing it
in 2011. During his doctoral years, he honed his expertise and passion for innovation while
also undertaking a full-time residency at IMEC, a global leader in nanoelectronics research.
Dr. Sarkar’s academic journey showcases his commitment to pushing the boundaries of
knowledge and research excellence.
Since February 2012, Dr. Mukul Sarkar has been an integral part of the esteemed Department
of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, as a Professor. Here,
he has imparted knowledge, inspired students, and spearheaded pioneering research endeavors.
Beyond academia, he serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at 3rdiTech, where he
oversees critical aspects of engineering, including ASIC design, collaborations, and image
sensor technology. His leadership extends to forging vital third-party collaborations, nurturing
relationships with foundries and EDA tool companies, and guiding technical integration with
esteemed customers. Dr. Sarkar’s career reflects his ability to translate academic excellence
into tangible contributions that shape the future of engineering innovation in the industry.
